WAYS TO CONNECT
We believe the world should be different and so we are a space of radical hospitality connecting people to God and one another in everyday life.
Sunday Morning Communion Service 10:00 AM
Sunday Evening Communion Service 5:30 PM
Every Sunday we gather for reflection, conversation and community. We are a United Methodist faith community where every soul is welcome, valued and beloved. We believe questions are not only ok but expected. We believe difference is beautiful, and we want to honor each voice while we go deep into an ancient tradition. We believe that the church at its best is a hub for community, and so we invite you to join us at the table every Sunday, just as you are.
An Abbey is an intentional community where we don’t leave our spiritual growth to chance. Through small group study, discipleship classes like UA 101 & UA 201, and practicing spiritual disciplines, we seek to grow in the image of God.
We want people to be connected and care about each other and so we gather seasonally in small groups to journey through life’s ups and downs together. In small groups, we get to know one another and dig more deeply into the spiritual and theological topics that we are exploring in worship.
College Small Group
College small groups meet at the Urban Abbey, as well as on campus at UNO and Creighton. Interested in joining a college small group? Email Pastor Chris at email@example.com.
Urban Abbey 101, 201, 301
Each month, seekers have an opportunity to learn together about the Abbey community, the bible, theological reflection, our Methodist roots, spiritual practices, and other topics that help us to grow in relationship with God and one another. In these classes, we also learn about what Urban Abbey membership means and discern if membership is where you are being called.

QueerFaith on Campus
QueerFaith on Campus (QFoC) is an initiative of Urban Abbey campus ministry. The goal of the project is to help LGBTQIA college students and allies think about and integrate their faith identity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. All people who identify as, or love and support, LGBTQIA college students are welcome at these events! Please email Rev. Chris Jorgensen (RevChrisJorgensen@UrbanAbbeyOmaha.com) if you would like more information.
Wesley Pub is for everyone, Christians, non-Christians and people annoyed by by Christians. It is for everyone that might have given up on church or wouldn’t step foot in a church. Affiliated with the Urban Abbey UMC, but not exclusively Christian, join us for Church without a steeple; a community centered on exploring progressive theology and social justice topics through dialogue, reflection, art and music. Bring some beer or a bottle of wine to share. Everyone is welcome, but you must be 21 to partake responsibly.
Spiritual practices urge us to draw deep into God’s presence, to listen, to open ourselves to the Spirit’s urging. There are so many ways to explore prayer through worship and song, through quiet and time-tested methods.
